Principles

PERCIEVABLE

Information and user interface components must be presented in a way that users can perceive them. This means that content must be available in multiple formats (eg. audio, visual, text) and should have sufficient contrast and color differentiation.

OPERABLE

Users must be able to operate the interface and navigate throughout the content using a variety of input methods. this means that the interface should be accessible, provide clear and consistent navigation, and avoid time limits that could make it difficult for some users to interact with the content

ROBUST

Content must be designed in a way that can be interpreted reliably by a wide range of user agents, including assistive technologies. This means that the content should be coded using standard HTML and other web technologies, and should avoid relying on proprietary technologies that may not be supported by all user agents.

UNDERSTANDABLE

Users must be able to understand the content and how to use the interface. this means that the language used should be clear and simple, instructions should be easy to follow, and error messages should provide clear guidance on how to correct that issue.

Percievable information & User Interface

This means that the information and user interface components of a website must be presented in a way that can be perceived by all users, including those with viral, auditory, and cognitive disabilities.

To achieve perceivability, web developers should ensure that text is easy to read and that images have alt text descriptions, and audio content should have text alternatives.

Operable user interface & navigation

This means that users must be able to interact with all the websites components and interface elements, regardless of their disabilities.

Web developers should ensure that all functionality on their websites is available through keyboard navigation and that users can pause, stop or hide content that is moving, blinking or scrolling.

Websites should also provide clear and consistent navigation and have predictable user interfaces.

Understandable Information & User Interface

This means that the information and user inter face components of a website must be presented in a way that is easy to understand for all users, regardless of their disabilities.

Web developers should use clear and simple language, provide instructions and feedback that is easy to understand, and ensure that the websites purpose and content are consistent.

Robust Content & reliable Interpretation

This means that websites should be able to function correctly with a wide range of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Web developers should ensure that their websites conform to web standards and are comparable with a range of browsers and devices.
